27 Week Ultrasound and 3D!

Yesterday, Mark and I had our 27 week ultrasound. We feel very blessed that we get to go in so often for these ultrasounds but every time we get just as excited to how she is doing, this week was no exception. We also had a special visitor come with us this week, Mark's Mom Susan. It was so fun to share this with her.
Becca is doing very well... she is weighing 2 pounds 4 ounces. Soon she will start growing a half pound a week. OH MY! She is 16 inches long and is in the 53rd percentile. So she is right on track!! The doctor said if she keeps growing the way she is we will have about a 6.5 - 7 pound baby (but more than likely she will grow more).
Becca was pretty sleepy during the ultrasound and was not moving too much, I forgot to have some orange juice before we left the house. We kept trying to wake her up, we tried shaking my belly, poking her, and even playing music. She just did not want to play. I am keeping my fingers crossed the same happens after she is born. ;)
She is head down and the doctor thinks that she will stay that way. So that was good news.
Other than that the doctor said that I could not be doing anything better as far as the pregnancy. Everything is just looking great! Given that I am considered high risk that is wonderful to hear.
I have been hard at work on Becca's nursery and hope to have it finished up in the next couple of weeks. We have some family coming in town for Thanksgiving and I would love to have it ready for them to see while they are here.

We did have one other big surprise while we were at the doctor. The sweetest Tech did the 3D ultrasound for us. It was so great that Mark's mom was able to be there to see this as well. She kept commenting how she never got pictures like this of Mark ;)

The 3D pictures are very baby dependent and if anything is in the way (ie. cord, arm, hand) you can't see too much but we were happy to try!

The first picture of Becca is very cute of her face. Her left cheek is missing because her elbow was blocking the way.

She was being very shy and kept putting her hand in front of her face.

Here she was rubbing her eyes. SOO cute!

This last one might be hard to see but below is her foot pushing against Mom. You can see it in the bottom left corner of the screen with her toes pointing up.

We go back in four weeks and I just can't wait to get back to see Dr. R!!!

Becca's First Baby Shower

This past weekend was Becca's first baby shower!! It was such a great weekend I can't begin to thank all the friends who made this so special for me! The weekend started with a fun dinner on Friday night. We all went to Matt's and enjoyed some queso and Mexican food!

The baby shower was on Saturday for brunch. It was just WONDERFUL! The hostesses did such a great job on everything!! The decorations were just the best. They made a diaper cake, cupcakes, dresses and even napkins for Becca! The hostess gift was the BOB stroller... I can't wait to start using it with Becca!! Mark and I are just so excited about Becca's arrival and it is so nice to have such sweet friends there to support us!

It was a great way to spend the morning... surrounded by great friends having good food and celebrating Becca!

Thank you to EVERYONE!!!

Genesis Shelter Fall Festival

This past weekend was the Genesis Fall Festival. It is one of the Junior League of Dallas' Provisional Projects, which I was in charge of putting together and running with the provisonals. It was my placement this year to work on the Provisioinal Projects and help determine which projects were selected for this years provisonals. We had some great selections this year but I must say I was most excited about the project that I was in charge of at Genesis Women's Shelter.

The provisionals were in charge of coming up with classes for a Healthy Fall Festival. They did a great job!! They had Arts and Crafts for the kids, with cookie decorating, dress up and frame designing. They had Floral Classes for the ladies and a Fitness Class. In the fitness class they showed them exercises they could do outside a gym and they had an "Eat This Not That" presentation. The staff and ladies at Genesis were very impressed and enjoyed the classes.

It was a great weekend with some wonderful Provisionals!!

I enjoyed the weekend so much at the shelter I am hoping to continue my work at Genesis next year.

The Crib is IN!

Well the preparing for Becca feels like it has really started... Mark put together Becca's crib while I was working for Junior League on Sunday. It was such a nice surprise to come home to see!! It seems as though the nursery has officially started to be put together. I keep just walking by her room and looking at it, imagining her little sweet self in there. WOW!

We have our first baby shower this weekend and I can not wait to start filling her room!!
