Baby Becca at 23 weeks

Mark and I went to the doctor this week for a sonogram at 23 weeks. Becca has grown so much since the last time we looked at her at 19 weeks. She has gained 6 oz. and now weighs in at 1 lb 3 oz. I can't believe we are over the one pound mark... she is going to grow so fast. She was in a better mood for pictures today and even played a little. We saw her opening and closing her hands, playing with her feet and even saw her yawn! It was just the cutest thing. If I was staring at this monitor so hard I can only imagine how much I am going to stare at her once she arrives.

She is starting to kick more so that has been fun to experience. We are almost 7 months along... AMAZING!
Here is the video from the sonogram. In the comments section there are times that you can click on in blue to see different fun moments:
Here are some pictures from the sonogram:

You can see her long leg just above the word "leg" on the picture (her foot is to the right).

Her foot is just above the word "foot"... the toes point to the left.

I am going to let you try and find her fingers... this should be easy. She kept grabbing her foot.

Here her legs are over her head... guess she is in tight quarters. Her arms are down at her sides.

Baby LeClair is a GIRL!!!

Rebecca "Becca" Anne LeClair

We had another ultrasound today and found out that without a doubt our little one is a GIRL!! Mark and I are so excited about knowing and can't wait to start shopping for our little girl!!

She apparently did not want to be photographed this morning... below is the best picture we could get. She is upside down in the picture. The doctor said she is growing very well and that I am looking good too. He checked her anatomy and everything looks great... she has two kidneys, four chambers in the heart, no cleft palate, and her brain looks wonderful. It was all great news!! We go back in four weeks for our next ultrasound and I am sure she will be so much bigger by then and maybe in the mood for a good picture!!

Babymoon in Vail!

Mark and I were able to get away for a long weekend to have a little "Babymoon." Wondering what a "babymoon" is... well it is similar to a "honeymoon" however it is a little trip for parents-to-be to take before the new addition arrives (you can check out this article in the USA Today). I think normally people take them a little further along in the pregnancy but with work, weddings and the holidays this was about the only time we could get away. We debated many locations for our babymoon but settled on Colorado. We were hoping for an active weekend with cool weather and a relaxing atmosphere... and we found the perfect spot... Vail!!

It was an amazing weekend and we had such a great time checking out the town and spending time together. The weather was better than perfect. We had nice days to go hiking and bike riding with cool evenings to take long walks bundled up. Here are some pictures from our weekend with a little more about how we spent out time.

Mark and I with my parents before dinner one night.

Below are some pictures from our hike at the top of the mountain.... 14,000 feet high! It was just beautiful to see the mountains from up there. We took the gondola ride up and they even allowed dogs to go up, we were sad we did not bring Abby with us. You could also rent bikes and take them up in the gondola and ride them down. We want to do that when we go back and I am not pregnant. We had lunch while at the top of the mountain and really enjoyed the view. There were also two weddings going on while we were there. The mountain top wedding site was just amazing!!

Here are some pictures of us fly fishing with my Dad. I don't want to brag but I did catch the most fish!! I had two in the net and one got away before the guide could get over with the net. Mark came in second with one very beautiful rainbow trout. It was so fun to learn to fly fish and to enjoy the out doors as the sunset in Colorado. I can't wait to go again.

The mountains and the beautiful flowers from Vail Village.

Mark and I on our bike ride. We stopped for the Farmer's Market in Vail Village.

We stayed at the amazing Sonnealp Hotel in Vail Village. It was just perfect! We had a fireplace in our room with two chairs to be able to relax and read at night. We also had a little patio that opened up to the mountains with flowers on our balcony. We can only imagine how great this hotel would be to stay in the winter. They had so many fireplaces and areas to relax after a long day on the slopes. We were also in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in the area. They were very pet friendly and the valets would even have dogs with them that they would watch while owners were out to dinner. Lilly was our favorite... she was very sweet golden that we loved to see as we came home every night. Below is a picture of the lounge area.

Katie and JJ Visit Texas!

Before we left town on our Babymoon Mark and I were able to get in a quick visit with Katie and her adorable son JJ! We had lunch with Katie and JJ and Lindsey and Addie.
Katie and I were roommates at Baylor. She is from California and has not been back to the great state of Texas since all the girls flew her in for her bachelorette party in 2005.
I was so sad that I was going to miss out on spending the weekend with her but she was in great hands with all the other Baylor girls who set her up for quite the tour of Texas!! It was so nice to be able to visit with her and meet JJ for the first time. He was just the most adorable baby!! It made me realize how much we miss Katie in Texas and I hope it won't be three years until we see her again!
Katie thanks for coming to Texas!!
I know that everyone had a great time seeing you in Dallas and Houston!!

Adorable JJ!

Sweet Addie!!
